EMILY's List Endorses Emily Reilly for Assembly

Santa Cruz, CA - Emily Reilly won the sole endorsement today of EMILY's List in her race for the State Assembly.

EMILY's List is the country's largest political action committee dedicated to electing pro-choice Democratic women to office. With thousands of members, EMILY's List, which stands for Early Money is Like Yeast, is the biggest financial resource for women running across the country for federal and state office.

"For the past 23 years, Emily's List has sowed fertile ground for Democratic, pro-choice women candidates around the country changing the face of state legislatures and the U.S. Congress," said Reilly. "It is a great honor to receive their endorsement. I will continue be a strong advocate for choice and women's reproductive health in the State Assembly."

Reilly is a member of the Santa Cruz City Council, the owner of a local bakery, Emily's Good Things to Eat, and a former two-term Mayor. The Assembly seat is currently held by John Laird, who is termed out in January 2009.
